The Thrombate III Disease & Product Overview

The Thrombate III Disease & Product Overview is a multimedia program combining video with animated graphics. The program covers the condition of hereditary antithrombin (AT) deficiency, including risks, paradigms for diagnosis and patient management, and the role of Thrombate III in treatment. You also have an opportunity to review the role of antithrombin in coagulation, the problems surrounding laboratory testing for antithrombin levels and function, the different types of hereditary AT deficiency, and a comparison of Thrombate III with fresh frozen plasma.

For every physician or pharmacist who views the sections "Hereditary AT Deficiency" and "About Thrombate III" of the Disease & Product Overview, and also completes the registration form below, Talecris Biotherapeutics, the makers of Thrombate III, will donate $25 to the National Alliance for Thrombosis and Thrombophilia (NATT), a nonprofit organization.

Important Safety Information
Thrombate III therapy has demonstrated a low occurrence of side effects. In clinical studies with Thrombate III, the most common side effects were dizziness, chest tightness, nausea, and a foul taste in the mouth. As with all plasma-derived therapeutics, the potential to transmit infectious agents, such as viruses, cannot be totally eliminated. Individuals who receive infusions of blood or blood plasma may develop signs and/or symptoms of some viral infections, particularly hepatitis C.
